I guess in the meanwhile everyone knows how I love Hamburg, right? I say it and write it whenever I have the opportunity. In Hamburg, the second biggest city of Germany, I felt home for the first time after I left my home town Istanbul. It is the only German city I felt fully welcome. Jurmala means seaside in Latvian language. How self-explanatory, right? Anyone who is in Riga or in any other part of Latvia should make time to go to Jurmala. It is only 30 minutes away from Riga and a perfect destination to get to know the Latvian local style of vacationing.
If you are in Latvia, you definitely need to visit Sigulda. Just one hour drive away from the capital city, Riga, you can arrive in Sigulda, and spend a beautiful day in that part of Gauja National Park. Sigulda is also called Little Switzerland, because of the sandstone rocks and caves in the area.
If you want to visit one of the Balearic Islands of Spain, you should consider visiting Menorca, the small sister island of Mallorca. Menorca is as beautiful as Mallorca, only with less hotels and tourists.
What a beautiful island it is Rügen! The largest island of Germany, located off the coast in the Baltic Sea and 300 km away from Hamburg. Statistics say most of the German people still spend their vacation in Germany and Rügen Island is clearly one of their favourite destinations.
